About Julie
Julie has over 20 years of marketing management expertise earned in a wealth of business environments. In New York, Julie was employed at Saatchi & Saatchi as supervisor on the Paine Weber .
Returning to California, Julie served as advertising manager for Santa Barbara Bank & Trust. She founded her marketing consulting business, Kessler & Associates, in 1996. Her clients included high tech, software and web-based firms, banks, insurance agencies, and others. Julie is a founding partner of Idea Engineering, a full service Santa Barbara based advertising agency.
Julie is a former President of the Board of Directors of Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV), a non-profit organization that helps women succeed through entrepreneurship and career development. She has served on the Board of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund and is a former member of the UCSB extension faculty where she has taught direct response marketing in the Marketing Certification program, and has taught fundamentals of marketing and advanced marketing in the International Business Certification program.
As a Planning Commissioner, Julie served the of Goleta from the commission’s inception until 2014, over seven years. She is a member of Santa Barbara County’s Mental Health Commission and the County’s Human Service Commission. She is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors for Crescend Health of Santa Barbara, a non-profit dedicated to transforming lives through creative and nurturing approaches to psychiatric recovery.
Julie acquired her enthusiasm for the business of Real Estate through her participation in many investments ranging from condos and co-ops to single family homes and duplexes in Santa Barbara, Goleta, Los Angeles and Palm Desert. She loves sharing her experience by helping people sell and buy homes and investment properties to realize their vision of a lifestyle uniquely their own.
In addition to community service, Julie is devoted to her family and their three dogs. She loves to hike, bike, ski and travel.
A proud native Californian, she holds a BS in Business from California State University, Northridge.
