AIRIE has also appointed Honorary Trustees Kathleen Morris and Alan Scott. Alan Scott, the Chief of Resource Education and Interpretation at Everglades National Park, co-founded AIRIE with Donna Marxer in 2001. Kathleen Morris, former AIRIE Board President, entrepreneur, and real estate broker-associate, is niece to the late Donna Marxer and a strong advocate for AIRIE and its continuing mission.
With over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry, Kathleen is a seasoned professional in an area she knows the best. As a strong community activist, Kathleen has been involved in many different organizations that bring awareness to groups that support community and artists in the South Florida area. One organization she is most proud of is ARIE, the Artist in Residence in Everglades organization, where she served as President for over 10 years. ARIE.org supports artists who wish to spend time in a residency program studying and creating artwork reflecting the unique beauty of the Florida Everglades. In addition to her passion for supporting the arts, Kathleen also enjoys photography, gardening, and neighborhood walks around Coconut Grove. She loves The Florida Keys, traveling via road trips, and supports the conservation and protection of our fragile South Florida water ecosystems.
