Our Family in the late 1960's, our father Randy Sr. began selling real estate on the Westside, helping to create the original Jon Douglas Company in Brentwood. During the 1980’s and 1990's the company transitioned into Prudential, and subsequently Coldwell Banker, with Randy Sr. having arguably the finest run in the history of Los Angeles Real Estate. During that same time, our mother, Didi, opened The Peter Lang Furniture Showroom at the Pacific Design Center with Diane. With more than 30 years of interior design experience, she now assists us with our staging and design needs. In 1988, Randy Jr. began his real estate career, partnering with Randy Sr. to become atop producer at Jon Douglas. Ultimately Randy Jr. moved on to Prudential/John Aaroe with Randy Sr., where they would be met with another 10 years of great success. In 2004, Diane left The Peter Lang Showroom to partner with Randy Jr. in the world of real estate, bringing both her tireless work ethic and design experience. Since then, the team has grown with the addition of Diane's son Ryan Axelrod as team management. Ryan has used his natural business sense and mind for great customer service to build a sound team management model and a trajectory for the company’s growth in the coming years. Having received his degree in economics at Pepperdine University, Ryan has both the feel for what Los Angeles-based clients are looking for and the hard knowledge about the current market and future trends. In 2008, Scott Gibson decided to fulfill his dream and open the premier Westside luxury real estate office, Gibson International. Coincidentally, Scott decided to open his office in the exact location where Randy Forbes Sr. started Jon Douglas in 1980. Randy Jr. and Diane knew that this was the perfect opportunity to start a new chapter in their careers and immediately made the switch to Gibson International.
After years of success in the competitive Westside market, we have now joined Compass, as part of a wider acquisition of several Los Angeles area firms. Now moving into 2019, our new position with Compass affords us the opportunity to serve our clients better than ever!
