Prior to entering real estate, her career included positions in the arts, counseling and fundraising.

A native Californian and Santa Monica resident, Kurtzman earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from U.C. Berkeley and her Master of Arts from the University of Southern California. Her interests include travel, cultural events, and active supporting of many nonprofits. She serves on the Photography Council at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the board of directors for PATH (People Assisting The Homeless). She is also on the Board of Directors of the firm's charitable foundation.
