Elsie Nelson is a fifth generation (Manhattan) New Yorker. She graduated from the Chapin School and studied Interior Architecture at Rhode Island School of Design. Prior to Compass,
Elsie began her real estate career in 1999 at Stribling & Associates. In 2009 she joined Brown Harris Stevens. After a number of years there, Elsie, to our great delight, returned to Stribling.
Elsie is attuned to the distinguishing characteristics of the finest buildings in the most desirable neighborhoods. She has successfully represented buyers and sellers nationally and internationally from the fields of finance, medicine, law, publishing and the arts. She has sold many cooperatives, condominiums and townhouses on the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Midtown and Downtown and her hard work has resulted in a large referral network of appreciative former clients. She is well respected amongst her peers and by clients for her utmost honesty and complete discretion.
Elsie's background in architecture and design enables her to envision adaptations to a given space that her clients may require while, at the same time, preserving the architectural elements unique to that space.
Elsie raised her two daughters in New York City and has lived in several different neighborhoods. She now lives in Brooklyn Heights and has a home in Montana. Gardening is a passion, and she has a Certificate in Horticulture and Garden Design from the New York Botanical Garden.
