About Ray
My Resume

Compass is proud of its association with Ray Walton. An integral part of Compass's dedication to excellence is the collaboration of high caliber professionals. Ray certainly fits that profile. Ray is a graduate of Florida State University, San Francisco State University and after doing post graduate work at Stanford received a Doctorate in Music from the University of Miami. All degrees were in the field of music with Piano as a major.

After teaching piano at San Francisco State University in the 1970 s Ray moved to New York City where he began his real estate career in 1977. After a few years of selling houses, condominiums and coops Ray became Director of Sales and Vice President of Hahn Realty, specializing in the brokerage of Manhattan s wonderful Brownstones.

In 1984 Ray took a sabbatical from work and sailed the Caribbean in his beautiful traditional sailboat. After sailing the New England waters, the Eastern Seacoast, the Bahamas and then the lesser Antilles it was time to return to work and Ray moved back to California and re-entered real estate as his career and has sold real estate on the Peninsula since 1991.

In addition to maintaining a successful real estate career Ray s love of music has led him to become involved in several music organizations and currently is on the Board of Fortnightly Music Club as Piano Chairman, acted as Housing Coordinator for the phenomenally successful Music@Menlo Festival in 2003 and currently studies Chamber Music with our Quartet in Residence at Stanford, the Saint Lawrence String Quartet.

In his spare time Ray can be found flying the skies of the Bay Area in his Cessna 172, playing Chamber Music at Stanford, sailing on San Francisco Bay or bicycling the hills and byways of this wonderful area.
