Life is a journey and there are few instances that resemble a “roller-coaster ride” more than maneuvering through a real estate transaction. My goal is to remove the fear and add fun to the process. I can’t promise every step will be enjoyable, but I can promise to do the very best I can for YOU with trust, experience and professionalism guiding the journey.
I consider myself to be an extremely fortunate person and believe that putting a positive spin on things translates into a happier life. In business, staying prepared allows me to be proactive for my clients. I’m passionate about Real Estate and over the past twenty plus years, I have sold over 260 homes totaling over $210 million in business. But it’s not about the numbers for me. It is about helping people and exceeding their expectations. I enjoy the balance and experiences working equally with both buyers and sellers. Over 90% of my ongoing business comes from past clients and referrals. I’m truly grateful and humble to serve them. I love what I do and committed to lifelong learning and self-improvement. My licensed assistant, Marlene Hofmann and I take pride in what we do – it’s all about the relationships.
There are few people who can boast being a native Floridian, but I one of the lucky ones. I grew up in “the other” Orange County in Orlando, Florida, (pre-Disney). I graduated from Furman University in Greenville, S.C. with a business/marketing degree and have worked in outside sales ever since. After living in New Orleans for two years, I moved to the Bay Area in 1984. I lived in Marin County, the Peninsula and the South Bay before moving to Danville in the East Bay in 1993. I raised my four children in the Greenbrook neighborhood who all graduated from the wonderful San Ramon Valley Unified School District.
My hobbies include hiking, reading, golf, tennis, travel, photos/scrapbooking and watching bay area sports teams. My two favorite vacation spots are the Florida beaches and Lake Tahoe. I married John Van Riper in 2015 and together we have seven grown children, three grandchildren and two cats.

She is the kind of realtor that you instantly become friends with! She takes a personal interest in your likes and dislikes and knows how to get to the meat of what you're looking for! We had some of the best experiences ever while house shopping with Loray and some of the best "OMG" moments..... I would recommend her highly! She is a true GEM! -Shelli D.
