Paul Kitchen is a real estate broker-associate and has worked full-time with Team Hatvany for over six years. After earning his law degree at UCLA and becoming a member of the California Bar, Paul decided to turn his focus towards Real Estate investment and sales. Paul loves to helps clients understand each step of the process in their journey to buy and sell properties, and particularly enjoys analyzing trends, advising clients on pricing strategies, comparative analysis, staging and visual presentation consideration, and the myriad nuances of San Francisco ownership and sales.
He and the Team work extensively across a broad spectrum of price ranges and locations within San Francisco, including single family homes, condos, TICs, co-ops, and multi-family investment properties. Paul’s legal background serves as an asset for both buyers and sellers alike. He is keenly focused on evolving local ordinances, rent board decisions, and the ever-changing legal and political landscape so as to best advise his clients on pricing, risk-management, portfolio goals, sales and acquisitions alike, and general strategy. He is well-versed in the nuances of landlord-tenant law and building codes as they relate to residential use. Born and raised in San Francisco, Paul is a graduate of Stuart Hall and Urban High School and intimately familiar with San Francisco’s neighborhoods. Paul is a member of the California Bar Association, graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Southern California (USC), and earned his law degree from the UCLA School of Law before returning to his home town.
Beyond traditional purchases, Paul especially excels in analyzing and understanding multi-unit properties, and has become an expert in such investments not only by helping clients on both sides, but also by investing in and coordinating management of multiple apartment buildings around the city. He even resides in one that is part of his portfolio!
Recently, Paul has opened up his own investment fund, allowing qualified investors to participate under his direction, using his understanding of the complex and ever-evolving rent-controlled environment to maximize returns.
In his spare time, Paul is an avid vintage race car driver, a huge fan of Motorsports, and an aspiring collector. He can be found racing with groups such as CSRG, HMSA, and SVRA, and currently is participating in the CrossFlow Cup in his 1969 Lotus single seater. He and his fiancee live on the north side of town, and love hiking, sailing and socializing with friends and family in their spare time.
