About Tanya
Tanya Maria grew up in Encinitas and still calls it home. She only left during her college years at Gonzaga University where she earned her BA in Education and Sociology and fell in love with her future husband,
Oscar. He followed her back after they graduated and they married in beautiful Coronado. Tanya then earned her MA in Education Curriculum & Instruction and taught elementary school before having their precious children; Mia, Micah, Max & Milana. The family resides in Encinitas and cannot imagine living anywhere other than San Diego.
Tanya has strong drive and outstanding leadership skills. She has served as Head of Service & Events for MOPS International for 6 years. Having been a competitive cheerleader and coach herself, Tanya is piloting a Cheer Program for FNA (Football ‘N’ America). She is also spearheading the Church of the Nativity’s First Mom Co Ministry program. Tanya is the first to volunteer, participate, activate and support her community. She has deep ties and endless commitment.
Tanya earned her CA Real Estate Salesperson License in 2023 with the goal of joining her Aunt, Lisa Waltman in the business. After a 12 year corporate career, Lisa became an agent in 2006. She joined forces with her real estate partner Kelly Howard in 2009. In addition to countless single family home sales, Lisa & Kelly have successfully navigated many complex transactions including bluff front, architecturally significant, new construction, vacant land, duplexes, those requiring geotechnical analysis, probate, along with innumerable traditional single family home sales. They are skilled in guiding clients through the tricky timing of selling and buying when the sale is contingent for the purchase. They have countless resources, trades and vendors to make the process as seamless as possible for their clients.
Tanya will be working side by side with Lisa, bringing her leadership skills, dedication to excellence and strong connections to the Kelly Howard Team.
