Terri Brown

These are the principles that shaped my life and my career. I grew-up on a farm in Idaho and remember our neighbors showing up to help us harvest our crops and my parents returning those favors without hesitation. I remember them agreeing to sell our potatoes to an unknown, fast-food company called McDonald’s in Southern California with nothing more than a handshake. I watched my parents build our home by themselves, piece-by-piece, brick-by-brick.

I have lived in the Bay Area since 1972 when I was granted an academic scholarship to study at Stanford University where I earned a BA in Economics and was also a founding member of the Women’s Volleyball Program. Subsequently, I worked for four years to save enough money to put myself through an MBA program at San Jose State University where I was selected for an internship with Hewlett-Packard in London, England. This opportunity led to an offer from HP to join as a Product Manager in the Sunnyvale Personal Computer Division and subsequently lead to a 20-year career in Marketing and International Business Strategy with top-tier firms and start-ups in Silicon Valley and San Francisco.

So where does real estate fit in? I was always intrigued with tools and building, but the turning point came before graduate school when I built, and sold, a spec home with my brother-in-law in Amador County in 1978. (Yes, I do know how to build a house!) After that experience, I personally have invested in over $10milllion of real estate between San Jose, San Francisco, and Healdsburg. Additionally, I have represented Buyers, Sellers, and Investors in over $90million of Bay Area real estate transactions. Several Stanford professors have trusted me to represent them in buying and selling their homes, on and off campus. I have been licensed with the State of California DRE since 1978 and earned my Broker’s license and certifications as a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS), Senior Real Estate Specialist. GREEN and First Time Buyer Specialist.

The commitment I make to my clients is to provide exceptional, hands-on, professional representation while always adhering to my fiduciary responsibilities of “the highest duty of good faith, honesty, and fair dealings”. On a personal note, I can best be described as a maverick. I still love sports - playing and watching. I will probably have an annual ski pass until I cannot walk anymore! World travel has always inspired and energized me. I love fast cars and riding motorcycles. I am a fan of Stanford sports teams and proud of the progress Stanford has made towards supporting women’s athletics. I am an active member of Stanford Alumni and the Block S society. But, most importantly, I am proud to be the mother of a daughter who went to Palo Alto schools, graduated from UCSB and is unapologetic of having two moms.
