This property, 7 Stetson Street, features a one-of-a-kind custom outdoor living environment designed and built in 2022 by Curbs Studio, a Wellesley-based landscape architecture firm.

Inspired by the Japanese zen garden tradition and the natural contours of the site, the design creates a seamless visual connection between the interior and exterior while maximizing the home’s outdoor living capacity across a series of thoughtfully composed spaces.

The hardscape throughout is defined by an exceptional selection of premium materials. Pathways are laid with custom-fabricated Cambrian Black Granite stepping stones, imported from Canada and cut to specification, lending the garden a dramatic and refined character. Upper and lower terraced patios are paved in TechoBloc’s Blu Grande and Valet series, framed by precision-cut black granite borders and Woodbury granite steps. Hand-built ivory stucco raised planters anchor the upper
terrace, while grey Mexican beach pebble riverstone and fine pea stone with steel edging complete the ground-level detail.

At the heart of the outdoor space is a fully built outdoor kitchen, constructed on reinforced concrete footings with a Coal Canyon natural stone panel veneer exterior, a Steel Gray granite countertop in leather finish, and a custom Brazilian Ipê wood feature frame. The adjoining Ipê hardwood deck, custom-designed wood and granite bench seating at the fire-pit lounge, and a portable fire pit together create a complete environment for both quiet enjoyment and large-scale entertaining.

A professionally designed low-voltage lighting system with wireless controls illuminates the entire garden after dark, with over three dozen fixtures placed at the planters, benches, kitchen, and along the pathways.
