Being one of the homes located in the Historical District some history is posted as follows: Charles and Harriet Hapgood Farmhouse 1835 house is a good example of the vernacular Greek Revival style, with a front-gable orientation, side hall plan, Greek Revival entry with an entablature side pilasters, sidelights, and six-oversix windows. The Italianate porch with tripartite posts and jigsawcut brackets dates to the late nineteenth century. The house was constructed for Solomon Hapgood's (see#7) son Charles and his wife Harriet, who lived here for most of their lives and had a large farmstead. There is also a c. I9oo ban behind the house.
