As an operating rule, I make a serious commitment to all of our clients. This applies to both our selling and buying clientele, and is testimony to our $675,000,000 in sales over the past 23 years. Capitalizing on over two decades of real estate and 10 years of corporate marketing expertise, I make it a point to employ unique measures to ensure that our clients’ properties stand out from the proverbial crowd, are communicated uniquely and presented in compelling fashion: in person, online, and in conversation.

We take great care in representing our clients’ distinctive properties, protecting our clients’ valuable time, and managing their expectations while delivering on their objectives. When you work with us, our commitment is to protect your most significant asset, so your priorities become our own and your investment is considered our responsibility to protect. We negotiate to win on every occasion, yet always in an ethical framework that places the highest regard on the reputation of our clients and their properties.

When I’m not selling real estate, I’m engaged in advocating for environmental causes and renewable energy (primarily solar adoption), and exploring uniquely beautiful wines and passionate winemakers.  On the side, I can be found behind the lens of my 35mm camera (and yes, my iPhone) shooting the sights and scenes of San Francisco or behind the net in a competitive game of tennis…or exploring the ever-frustrating art of the perfect espresso or pour-over behind my ECM semi-automatic espresso machine or my Fellow brewing apparatus.


I joined boutique brokerage McGuire Real Estate in 1998, was named McGuire Real Estate Partner in 2004, and was the #1 top producing agent at McGuire’s downtown office for six years. In 2009, I joined Sotheby’s International Realty to expand my clients’ international exposure.  After a successful nine-year run, I joined Compass in 2018 to afford my clients and myself an industry-leading platform merging the best of real estate brokerage and customer-facing technology that’s recreating the face of real estate sales.  Since 1999 (year two), I’ve consistently ranked in the top 5% of all San Francisco real estate agents in sales volume…although my focus has been and always remains centered on delivering for my clients and their objectives, regardless of the financial outcome.

Looking Back:

In hindsight I find the most rewarding accomplishment of the past two+ decades to be the vast number of our clients who are still happily ensconced in their homes with no interest in selling 10-15 and even 20 years later, proving that we bought “right,” bought “smart,” and strategically were on target to fulfill both their emotional and practical needs for the long term with no need to look back in the rear view mirror.

On the selling side, we’ve taken great pride in maximizing the selling price of our clients' homes without resorting to underpricing or relying on frenzy to get them into contract, instead focusing on building incredible buyer confidence in the quality, beauty, and inherent value of their home.  We couple that by building trust that the home can (and should) be their next and “forever” residence.

We are also fortunate to have the support of an amazing business manager and administrative partner since 2002, Jodeana Patterson, who exemplifies what “client service” is all about…a long-lost art of care, communication, follow through, and full accountability.
