Description

Springhaven Inn, from around 1889 or earlier, is redolent with history. In the late 19th century, it stood on the corner of Globe Road and what is now Main Street, Blowing Rock where it was a stagecoach turn station. It was a place where the horses were watered, fed and often changed on the way to the next destination, Linville. Globe Road was the only access from Lenoir, at foot of the mountains to the mountaintop villages.
