Coved ceilings with relief plaster trim, ceiling medallion and hardwood parquetry floors create a simple but rich effect. Ornately-carved fretwork partition with columns, and garland and bow detailing leads into the center parlor. The rear parlor successfully marries the original built-ins and spectacular triple bay windows with a large, modern kitchen featuring a suite of Viking stainless steel appliances and center island. French doors lead out onto the bi-level, slate deck and down into the backyard.
On the second floor of the triplex, the front bedroom is full-width with an original built-in mantle and over-mantle, another triple bay and a lovely stained-glass window. The rear bedroom features an original mantle and both bedrooms have their charming pass-through dressing areas almost entirely intact with a pocket door that separates the two rooms. A marble-tile bath completes this floor. On the top floor of the triplex the entire space has been opened up — ceiling raised and walls removed — to create a massive bedroom and primary bath. Two skylights and a triple-bay window let in great light. There is central air conditioning on the top two floors. The garden-level floor-through apartment is an easy rental with a mantle, parquet floors, shutters and built-ins; an eat-in kitchen, a true one-bedroom with a classic white-tiled bath and access to the backyard.
